I am a member of the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis in London, working in private practice. I also work as an academic teaching research methodologies and contemporary cultural theory to doctoral students in the School of Arts at the University of the West of England, Bristol. My research and teaching addresses theories of embodiment, the senses and affect; visual culture; urban culture and everyday life. My most recent project is Berlin Fractured, an experimental memoir aiming to explore border crossings as embodied, material and spatially distributed human experiences, and the ways the uncanny reverberates in psychic attachments and multiple entanglements, confronting the challenges of writing ‘life’ in its variability, contingency and precarity. I am currently also working on an approach to psychoanalytic theory and clinical practice that I’ve called ‘Listening with the Skin’.
